Surah-1: Al-Fatihah

Al-Fatihah - The opening.

1 أعوذُ  to take refuge,  to seek protection . I take refuge, I seek protection.

3 بِ  prep. of, with, by, in.

4 مِن  prep. from, of, some of,  since, then.

5 ٱلرَّجِيم stoned, cursed, damned

6 اسْم name, noun
7 ٱلرَّحْمَٰن Beneficent, Compassionate

8  ٱلرَّحِيم  xg. Merciful,

9 الْحَمْدُ - the praise, thanks, commend, admire

10 لِ prep. for, because of, due to, for the sake of, for the sake of


11 رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِين Sustainer of the worlds, Lord of the worlds / creatures 


12 مَٰلِكِ  owner, king, master

13 يَوْمِ day

14  ٱلدِّينِ judgment, religion, faith, creed 

15   إِيَّاكَ  Thee Alone 

16  نَعْبُدُ we worship 
16 وَ  and 

17  نَسْتَعِينُ we ask for help, assistance, support

19  ٱهْدِ  im. guide, direct, lead on right course or way, show the way, make aware
20  نَا pl. us, our, ours 

21 ٱلصِّرَٰطَ path, way, course 

22  ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ straight, upright, erect, correct, righteous, honest

23    ٱلَّذِينَ  pl. those, who 

24  أَنْعَمْتَ you have favored, you bestowed grace

25  عَلَيْهِمْ prep. unto them, upon them 

26  غَيْرِ other than 

27  ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ those who earned wrath

28 لَا not, no, do not, don't 

29 ٱلضَّآلِّينَ who go astray, who lose the way
